Two college students did just that by starting an eco-pizza business and now they are making millions.
Vaughan Lazar and Michael Gordon opened an organic pizza shop called Pizza Fusion in 2006. Their goal was to cater to people who like to eat organically. At Pizza Fusion, fraternities brothers Vaughan and Michael serve organic, gluten-free, vegetarian pizzas and pizzas with vegan toppings.
However, their specialty doesn’t stop there. They use all kinds of recycled products in their shops such as recycled glass soda bottles. Not only that, but they buy their ingredients from locally grown produce to cut down on transportation cost and waste – all of which adds to the eco-friendly atmosphere of their business.
Before starting their business, they studied everything they can put their hands on including eco-friendly products that they could use in their business. When they first started out, they had no idea how big an idea their business would be. However, by specializing in a special niche, their sales for 2008 is projected at $14 million dollars!
