As a teen looking for ways to make some money, you might have thought about applying for part-time jobs, or even working at local food chains. It isn’t easy being young and not having a stable job to fund your needs and wants. Also, most of the jobs out there are not necessarily as fun as you thought them to be.

Well, here’s a chance to unite both work and play – apply for a position at GameStop and work at one of the coolest video game stores in the world! GameStop stores are quite popular because it is loved by both the young and old. All kinds of games are here, and the geeks residing in all of us are sure to exclaim with glee once we walk inside. From brain games like sudoku to sword fights to music-intensive video games to consoles for car racing – you bet, GameStop has it. How nice would it be to work in a store where you’re surrounded by the sights and sounds of people playing to their heart’s content? You are also bound to meet interesting people who can converse in the language of video games!

But wait a minute – how old do you have to be to work at GameStop? Are there any restrictions or specific qualifications needed?

As per GameStop’s requirements, you have to be at least 16 years old to be able to apply. Make sure that you also check within your state the legal working age permitted. In some areas, even if you are 16 years old, you have to bring a certification letter from your parents, or get a work permit from your high school. And then sometimes, when you are 18 years old and more, you might need to bring a resume where a list of all your past experiences are included.

Check out the nearest GameStop in your area. You can get an application from the physical store or you may also download it online. GameStop advises that you go to the branch where you want to work and submit your completed application there. Most of the careers available for a GameStop employee are store managers, game advisors, customer service representatives, working at the home office or at the distribution offices.
