Now that you know how to make friendship bracelets, we want to help you learn how to make profit from it. Since a lot of teenagers love giving gifts to friends and showing off symbols of friendship, a bracelet is one of the many things that immediately comes to mind when you think of something to give to someone. It is also fun and fashionable to wear, and can fit many occasions. Guys can even wear it as much as girls!
So here are some tips on how to earn money selling friendship bracelets:
- Make a list of all the friendship bracelets that you have made so far. Group them into different categories, depending on what you want. It can be by color (if you make solid color bracelets versus multi-colored ones), by size (some wrists are bigger than others) or by gender (you can make designs specifically for boys or girls). This will serve as your “inventory”, so you will know how much of each kind you still have. It can also be an indication of what bracelet is the most sellable or is the favorite among your buyers.
- Tally all your expenses. Make sure that you list the cost of every material that you used, from the yarn to the clipboard even to the container where you will be keeping the bracelets. You can also add to that the overhead expense (electricity, etc.) – ask the help of someone older like your parents to help you with this. Then add to that a certain rate or price for your service which will serve as the final price of the bracelet. To be more precise, visit craft stores and jewelry stalls to see how much they are selling friendship bracelets. Then parallel your price to that or increase/decrease a little bit.
- Create a business name for yourself so that people can have a better name recall for the friendship bracelets. Come up with something unique and clever that will best describe your products. If you can, also make a logo because this will be the representation of your business name.
- Start selling online to decrease your costs. You can begin by networking with friends via Facebook, Twitter or any other social networking site that you are on. You can also create a blog or a free website to advertise your product. It is better if you can take pictures of each friendship bracelet so that people have an idea of what they look like or what the designs are. Provide a contact or order form in your site that includes the customer’s name, contact number, wrist size, design preferred, etc.
- Network with other craft makers or artists and keep an eye out for local bazaars in your neighborhood. A bazaar is a great way to get your product out there. Inquire about the requirements of setting up your own stall and make sure that you also create signs, business cards and other paraphernalia that will help locate your stall. Also make flyers to give out to people who will come visit you.
