The old persistent stereotype is that boys don’t shop. Especially teenage boys, who in the movies have to be dragged to the mall to buy things like shoes and clothes. Of course, it’s simply not the truth. Boys may shop for different things to girls, and can shop in different ways, but they still go to malls and they still buy things with their hard earned cash.  And when it comes to being a mystery shopper, it’s not just a job for the girls – boys still get all the benefits of being paid to do things like seeing movies and eating out.

As a matter of fact, because there are more females registered as mystery shoppers, male shoppers are often in high demand. There are some things a girl secret shoppers just can’t do. She can’t check out the male bathrooms to see if they are kept clean and well stocked, she can’t go into the male change rooms, and she’d look pretty strange asking a sales assistant in a men’s clothing store to pick out some different styles and sizes to try on. Some stores actually ask for specific types of people to take assignments. Hardware stores and businesses that sell electronic devices and media are often looking for male shoppers. Companies who hire mystery shoppers like to have all types of people on their lists so they can give out the job straight away. Of course, you’re not just limited to the male only jobs! There’s no reason why most assignments can’t be done by someone of either gender. Mystery shopping is a great job for teenage boys.

All the benefits of mystery shopping for teenagers apply equally to boys and girls. One of the best things about it is that you choose which assignments you take. That means you don’t have to shop when you’d rather not, and you can pick the kind of benefits you’re most interested in getting – money, discounts, free merchandise or a mixture. If you’re a teenage boy interested in making some extra money, having fun and still enjoying your freedom, mystery shopping for teenagers is definitely something to consider!
