Being creative and innovative will give you more advantage because you are bound to attract more customers that way.

So what are some neat candle making ideas that you can start from your own home? Here are some examples:

  1. Number-shaped candles. For events like birthdays, you can make number-shaped candles to put on cakes. People of all ages would love these, as they can display their age on their cake with style! Come to think of it, even occasions like anniversaries will fit this idea, because there’s something special about counting the years of good memories :)
  2. Scented candles. A lot of customers like scented candles because it helps set the mood. For relaxation, choose scents that soothes the senses, like lavender, chamomile or cedarwood. For romantic occasions, choose scents like rose, jasmine or vanilla.
  3. Candles in different shapes. These can be used as cute gifts for friends or loved ones. You can buy different molds and make candles out of different shapes, like hearts, teddy bears, and the like. If you have more advanced skills, you can carve different designs in big blocks of candles. You can even make customized head busts with facial features – it might take more time, effort and materials, but you can also charge a bit higher for this kind of work.
  4. Candles in different containers. These candles can be given as gifts to people who have specific tastes and likes. For example, for newlyweds you can pour wax in two champagne glasses and etch the couple’s name on it. For the minimalist, you can put candles in small shotglasses that one can distribute all over the house for an elegant design. Explore different containers and don’t be afraid to experiment!
  5. Personalized candles. You can also offer different design “add-ons” that your customer can pick and choose and you can make upon request. Colors can vary depending on the choices of your dye. You can also sprinkle some glitter, or add embellishments to the container, like ribbons or the customer’s name.
