And who’s more creative than a kid that has a passion for photography? Lots of kids nowadays are great with digital cameras. But even if you’re not a pro, you can still make money from it. Surprisingly enough, you don’t have to be professional at all to make money from the pictures you take and we’ve discussed this in other articles.

As we’ve shown in other articles, you can be an amateur having no more than a digital camera and make as much as $250 a day for taking pictures. This could be you, especially if you’re a kid looking for ways to get a job or make money.

As a kid, often the best way to make money is from doing your own thing because all too often, people discriminate against you because of your age. Well, all this can change if you can make some money with your camera.

One way to get started is by doing some portraits of of your friends for free. Soon it won’t be long before you’ll get good at it and people will be coming to you to ask you to take their pictures. when that happens, you can begin charging a small fee for your “services”.

Another way to make money as a kid photographer is to go to your neighborhood games, i.e football, soccer, track, etc, and take a bunch of pictures. After having your pictures developed, you can show them to the players on the teams and offer to sell the pictures to them. If the pictures are good enough, people will definitely want to buy them.

If your local newspaper has a “Teen Section”, find out if you can submit your photos to them. Many newspapers let people mail in their photos and pay them anywhere from $25-$50 for them.

When starting out, one of the best thing to do is to take as many pictures as possible until you find your particular niche. Shoot pictures of everything from landscapes to family birthday parties. Being young and up-to-date on technology is definitely a plus in your favor. As you probably know, it’s a lot easier to get jobs and to get people to consider your work when you have a portfolio for people to look at. Also, having a portfolio will give you a great start at getting better paying jobs when you’re in college.

A good thing is that with you being so young, you have a lot of time to develop this hobby and become a professional at it. And when it comes time to apply for college, go somewhere that has a good photography major. Maybe you can go into management as an elective or a 2nd major (think: your own business) or possibly even accounting or marketing (so you can get the most bang for your buck and know how to work with money).

Whichever way you choose, finding a job as a kid photographer doesn’t have to be an impossible task. Even as a kid, you can make money. And what better way to do it than from your very own talents?!

Each day, thousands of people, perhaps even millions, use the website Craigslist to sell things from books to cars to clothes to furniture. The problem that many of them have is that oftentimes, they list their things to sell without pictures. Studies show, however, that advertisements with pictures do better than advertisements without pictures by about 10 to 1. What this means is that if someone is looking to purchase an item and the same item is being sold by two different people – one with a picture and one without, the advertisement that has pictures will sell faster than the ad that doesn’t have pictures. In short, most people will likely buy a product online if there is a picture of the item for sale.

One way how a teenage photographer can make money this summer is by contacting the people who sell things on sites like Craigslist but don’t include a picture with their ad and offer to take pictures for them of their item for sale. The item that you take pictures of could range from furniture to cars to apartments for rent. So, for example, say someone has an apartment for sale or rent but they don’t have any pictures with their ad, you can email them and offer to take an unlimited number of pictures of the inside and outside of the apartment for only $50 and deliver the pictures to them the same day by burning the pictures onto a disc with the CD burner in your computer.

Whatever area you live in, you can target people who list ads in the areas closest to you. You can start out by first sending out emails to people. Then, wait for people to accept your offer. When people respond to your offer, you can set an appointment to meet with them and take pictures of their item for sale. The whole thing should take you no more than 15 minutes. And if you have a laptop that you can take around with you, you can burn the pictures onto a CD and deliver the product to the owner on the spot. In those few minutes alone you can make $50.

This is definitely a way a teenager photographer can make money this summer. In fact, this is a method that a number of people are already using to make money. One person who we consulted with for this article says that using her digital camera, she makes up to $1000 a week taking pictures of people’s items for sale that they advertise on the Internet at sites such as Craigslist.
