Since gift baskets are highly popular as a home-based business idea, I thought that it would be fun to discuss ideas for gift basket with beach theme. Who doesn’t love the beach? That being the case, beach theme gift baskets are a fantastic home-based business idea. They are super-fun to make and don’t need much investment in terms of time and money. The best part is that lots of people love to buy these. So your money making prospects are very good.
Visit a dollar store and a super-market to pick up the items that are needed to put together a beach theme gift basket. Here are the materials that you will require:
- sand bucket/ basket/beach bag
- filler material (colored tissue paper and ribbon pieces/shredded color paper)
- beach theme gift items like sunscreen, flip-flops that are colorful, beach ball, sunglasses, water goggles, SPF 15 lip balm, frisbee, beach towel, beach toys, shells, hat, water bottle, bottle of lemonade or some energy drinks and so on.
- decorative cellophane (silver/gold/orange/blue/green/red printed cellophane)
- ribbon/satin bow (preferably in bright colors like yellow, red, green, blue etc.)
- rubber stamps that go with the beach theme
- markers
- plain card and envelope
Here are some ideas for gift basket with beach theme and the steps involved.
1. The first thing you need is a container to include all the gift items in. I think that sand buckets and beach bags are the best, considering our theme. But you can always stick to a conventional wicker basket too. Just make sure that the container you select is large enough to hold all the goodies that you want to include in the gift basket.
2. Once you have selected the gift basket container, you will have to use some filler materials to make the basket look fuller. Since this is a beach theme gift basket, it’s nice to add colorful fillers. So use bright colors like red, yellow, greens and blues, while selecting the filler materials. You can make use of a few layers of colored tissue at the bottom of the basket. To this you can add a second filler layer of shredded color paper or ribbon pieces.
3. After the fillers are in place, you can gather the gift items to be included. Some of the ideas for gift basket with beach theme are gift items like sunscreen, flip-flops that are colorful, beach ball, sunglasses, water goggles, SPF 15 lip balm, frisbee, beach towel, beach toys, shells, hat, water bottle, bottle of lemonade, energy drinks and so on.
4. When you are arranging items in the gift basket, make sure that the bottles are placed at the center of the gift basket. Surround such breakable items with other soft items like towels.
5. Once all the items have been included, you can wrap the whole basket with decorative cellophane paper. You can use cellophanes that have bright prints like green, red, yellow/gold or blue motifs. Lay a sufficiently large piece of decorative cellophane on a table. Keep the gift basket at the center of the cellophane, and pull all the free edges of the cellophane upwards.
6. Hold the ends of the cellophane at the top of the basket, and secure it using a pretty looking bow or satin ribbon. Use bright colored ribbons/bows, preferably yellow, red, green, blue etc.
7. The only thing that needs to be done next is the inclusion of a card and an envelope. You can decorate a plain card using rubber stamps/markers and then, include this card and an envelope with your gift basket. Since we are making a beach theme gift basket, you can use rubber stamps that go with the theme and markers of bright colors (shades of red, yellow, green and blue).

These are really neat. I would want to make a food basket to take along with you, too. Everyone likes to eat while they are at the beach. Maybe, a beach cooler would not be a bad idea either.
I have been seeing these baskets everywhere. I made a few of them for Christmas presents but, I never thought of making a beach basket. It is not a bad idea. This way you will have everything that you will need at the beach and the food basket is a good idea, too.
